Cleaning Tips to Prepare for your 4th of July Barbecue

Summer is a busy season, and you may not have time to clean your entire home before your family and friends arrive for your 4th of July party. Save time by focusing on these four cleaning tasks that tackle the most visible areas to guests.

1. Front of your home:

The first thing your guests see is your driveway, sidewalks and front door. Take the time to sweep or pressure wash the sidewalks, remove any insect nests or spider webs and sweep your porch or entryway.

2. Glass sliding doors:

Your guests will likely put down their belongings and head straight to your backyard or pool area. Spend a few minutes cleaning the inside and outside of glass sliding doors.

3. Deck or patio:

This is likely the scene of your party, so don’t forget to sweep and pressure wash the area. If you have patio furniture, be sure to clean the cushions and the furniture's frame.

4. Pool:

No one wants to swim in a dirty pool. Remember to remove large debris with a net, vacuum the pool bottom, and sweep or pressure wash the walkway around the pool.

Don’t have time to complete these tasks before the big party? ServiceMaster of White Plains can take the window washing, pressure washing, and patio furniture tasks off of your plate.
